The Regional Schools Commissioner has approved the establishment of an Interim Executive Board. Its purpose is to have oversight and to drive forward the current priorities of the school and it takes over the responsibilities of the former governing body. Paul is a National Leader of Governance and is a trained External Reviewer of Governance. Paul has also completed the National Colleges Chairs of Governors Development Programme and is the current chair of governors for two primary schools in Buckinghamshire. Paul also works in a Chair's networking group that meets termly. When not on governing duties Paul enjoys spending time with his family and watching football.
Mr Ian Thomson – Parent Governor - Vice Chairman of Interim Executive Board
Ian lives locally, has a son at Heritage House and has been a part of the Governing body since early 2016. In his business career, Ian has sat on a number of operational boards, working closely with others as part of a team to identify stretching targets, implementing these to improve standards and quality of output and holding colleagues to account. Ian is currently building his understanding of Governance by studying for the BLT ILM Recognition 1 Year Certificate. Outside of work, Ian very much enjoys being a dad, watching rugby, running and cooking.
Paul Roper has been a Governor for the past four years of a Bucks maintained primary Special School, and Chair for the past three. Upon taking up the Chair’s role, his first task was the regeneration and re-constitution of the governing body following a drastic decline in membership. Prior to his retirement in 2012, over the course of a thirty-year career in education with an Inner London Authority, he had been successively, Teacher, Headteacher and Education Officer. At the conclusion of his career he had oversight of my Authority’s ‘Education Other than at School’ services, which comprised four Pupil Referral Units as well as a Home Tuition Service. Paul has extensive experience of all aspects of school management and has been through numerous school and Local Authority inspections. He has headed establishments at both ends of the ratings spectrum, including taking one secondary PRU from ‘Special Measures’ to ‘Outstanding’.
Angela Coneron has been a governor for 20 years and has a wide range of experience. During this time, she has chaired and been a member of various committees and panels, covering the range of governance functions within a school. Additionally, she has been:
▪ A lead governor on key transformation projects including the Federation of three schools and the introduction of innovative leadership models.
▪ A member of a Local Authority Shadow Governing Body that was responsible for transitioning from an IEB to a standalone Governing Body
Angela is currently Chair of Governors for another special school and a member of a secondary school Governing Body and represents Special School Governors on the Bucks Schools Forum. A creative problem solver, who seeks to find solutions to challenges rather than accept the status quo.
Mark holds a degree in Computer Science from Warwick University and a black belt in Taekwondo. He
has been part of the Governing Body since early 2016. He has worked as a software engineer for the last 25
Photo to years largely in the financial services industry developing real time trading systems. He has lived in Amersham
follow since 2012 with his wife and two sons. He plays music (guitar and ukulele), restores classic cars, and edits a
classic car club magazine and website.
