Reflexology
We have a visiting reflexologist who works with a small number of pupils with parental permission. Reflexology and massage are non-invasive treatments which have been known to help children with:
Sleeplessness
Inducing a greater sense of calm
Relaxing tense muscles
Decrease hypersensitivity to touch
Increasing elimination processes
Constipation
Improving eye contact, listening skills and self esteem
Reducing panic attacks and temper tantrums
General better health, reducing coughs and colds
Easing period pains
A common thread to each session is a reflexology sequence of gentle movements and the stimulation of specific pressure points on the feet, hands and head. Massage is incorporated at any time when the need to ease muscular tension and stiffness arises, such as restricted limb movement from maintaining seated positions; wearing of splints or constant tip toe walking.
