HERITAGE HOUSE SCHOOL

SCHOOL CLOSES ON FRIDAY, 1ST JUNE AT THE USUAL TIME FOR THE HALF-TERM HOLIDAY

Sailing

We are fortunate in being able to provide our older pupils with regular opportunities to sail.  The benefits of sailing include working as part of a team, developing a range of skills which increase independence, and experiencing and enjoying an exciting and healthy outdoor activity in beautiful settings.

Students frequently sail at Rickmansworth Aquadrome, not far from the school.  The level of sailing depends on ability, ranging from experiencing being on the water in a safety boat, to sailing a small dinghy independently.  Safety is, of course, a primary consideration, and the sessions are led and managed by qualified instructors.

Regular sailing residentials are also provided through our association with the UK Sailing Academy, based in Cowes, Isle of Wight.  These have the benefits of working on the additional independence that residential trips foster, and experiencing the sea and all that goes with it.  Once again, boats and other equipment are specifically adapted to our pupils and safety levels are extremely high.
