HERITAGE HOUSE SCHOOL

SCHOOL CLOSES ON FRIDAY, 1ST JUNE AT THE USUAL TIME FOR THE HALF-TERM HOLIDAY

Speech and Language Therapy

All pupils at Heritage House School will be seen by the speech therapist for small group or individual teaching and therapy sessions. Effective communication is a key learning outcome for all pupils.

The school aims to anticipate and respond to the needs to individuals who experience difficulties, and it works in partnership with families and other professionals to reduce the impact of these difficulties and to enhance the student's ability to participate in everyday life.

We use a "Total Communication" approach that allows for verbal and non verbal communication.  Speech and Language therapists work on site, and to provide maximum input they will work on improving the communication environment in each classroom, facilitating group work and addressing individual needs through one to one therapy.  We have a specialist therapist who manages those students with feeding problems.
